We have purchased 2 harnesses so far and are waiting for the 3rd to come in. I just wanted to agree with everyone about how fantastic the product is (despite, yes, taking a little while to get to us, though we are in Ontario, Can.), the customer service is great (only 1 email I sent did not get answered but my phone calls are always answers or returned right away, very friendly and polite). My only advice would be to not use the weigh for sizing but instead be sure to measure your dog. The second harness we got our dog did not fit him for very long, he was in the weigh range but he was still a bit to large for it…still, an amazing product. We’re not selling his old harnesses but plan to keep them for the next puppy!

I, too, ordered from Champion K-9 originally and experienced the same problems–no answer, full mailboxes, etc. So I called USA K-9 Outfitters and spoke with Suzie. She told me that she makes these restraint systems herself. I received mine in a matter of days and am very pleased with it. Aside from the sturdy construction, I like the fact that my German Shepherd does not get tangled up and unable to move because the harness moves on his back.

A registered letter to Champion K-9 cancelling that order was returned as undelivered.

Don’t worry! I got mine within two weeks, and it works great. Plus, I had to exchange and get a new size, and the customer service was wonderful.

Ok, I ordered via USA K9 Outfitters website. Still very nervous as the email confirmation from USA Outfitters was eerily similar to the ChampK-9 email. A lot of text was verbatim.

Ditto on champk-9. Wish I had found this review before. I ordered 7/20/10, got an email confirmation. Heard/received nothing. Called phone # on email, disconnected. Now website goes to ecommerce hosting site. I called the ecommerce site and they said they could not go into details but there was a problem with the vendor. My credit card hasn’t been charged yet by champk-9 but it sure makes me nervous knowing they have it. I’ll give USA K9 Outfitters a try.

I’m yet another person who ordered from the ChampK-9 site. I’ve read so many seat belt reviews that convinced me that this product is by far the best car safety restraint out there, but I ordered on May 29 and recieved an “order conformation” but then got nothing. No response to e-mail messages, no way to call and talk to someone (as all the voicemail boxes are full) and my cc number just out there in limbo somewhere :-/ The last time I called, it seems as though the number is no longer in service. I wish the ChampK-9 site would disappear entirely, as it’s really confusing.

I ordered the seatbelt today, and want to make sure it gets here before a trip on July 29th, so I’ll try to call on Monday. I will make sure to update when I recieve the product.

I own two Italian Greyhounds, and like many others, wanted a way to keep my dogs safe while driving. I placed an order last year with Champ k-9 for two seatbelt systems, which never arrived. I had read very good reviews about the harnesses, but had no way to obtain them. Incredibly frustrating!

After reading this blog post, and many of the user comments, I called USA k-9 and just placed a new order. The sales representative was very nice and told me that my items should arrive within two weeks. I’ll come back and post my experiences after I receive the harnesses.

Count me as someone who ordered through Champ k-9 and has not been able to get through to anyone. Luckily my credit card wasn’t charged, but it’s been 8 weeks and I have yet to get any notification of shipment, and like others, have found their mailboxes to be full and all my messages that I was able to left are still unanswered. I am going to look now at the USA k-9 site. Glad I found these reviews, just wish I had done so before ordering!

I have been using the Champion system for about 7 years and it is the best. It is important that you NOT ORDER from Champk-9.com – they will not fill the order! USA K9 Outfitters is where to order. I wish I had the new bullnose buckle as I agree with the author that the old style are difficult to use. Everything else I find very easy and my dogs are trained to step into the seatbelt.

Within the first year of having it, I was traveling with my 14 year old Lab. A large male deer ran out in front of the car and I slammed on the brakes. My Lab began to move – but was caught by the restraint when he reached the end of the strap. The seatbelt kept him in the back seat, when he was heading for the windshield. I highly recommend this system!! Mine will never be without. Others with different seatbelt systems have asked me “what’s so special about that seatbelt?” I answer the question and then ask, to what strength was your dog’s seatbelt system tested… most of the time, they have no idea and I bet it wasn’t tested.
