Winter is the perfect time of year for teaching, "Place." We have a thick fuzzy door mat just inside the kitchen door. Benny very much prefers to sit or down on the mat rather than the cold kitchen floor. We use it to practice, "place . . . sit . . . stay" before meals. (No, Benny isn't 100% perfect. But it helps.)
