Have you returned the merchandise that they did send you? Since the credit card company reimbursed you?

Your experience is very unusual for this company. While I am not in any way saying you are untruthful, I am instead saying your experience is not the norm.

Paula,
That's good to know, (They they do own a shop). But I still have not heard a peep out of them on my missing items. At the very least shop or not it's not a way to run a business. By now I'm sure they had heard from my Credit Card Company and even with that one would think that at the very least one of them would let me know if the things are in the mail or if they decided to keep my money and not send anything. Perhaps you can go and let them know "Again" that they still have not shipped me everything that I have paid for.

Susie and USAK9 Outfitters have always been very responsive to inquiries and questions about orders. I, too, ordered a harness in January, and received it promptly. I'm very surprised that someone had a problem with an order. And I know that the products are made in their shop, I've been to the location.

I reread what I wrote in my second comment and I sounded a little terse, I'm sorry for that. (although you may not have seen it) there is something very "Not Right" with usak9outfitters.com I have covered only some of the conversation between the two of us.

To summarize I ordered three items and received only one. When I wrote the 1st time I never got a response so I had to call. The woman Susie called and left a message explaining that they were very busy and she forgot to put the rest of my order in the 1st shipment. In my email I had told her what I received and told her what two items that I did not receive. (At this point read the second paragraph on comment #30) The label was created but nothing placed in the mail until I complained and said I was going to call my C.C. company.

Today I got only the second item, but still missing the third item. I called and got no response so I emailed again and expressed my concern about all of the confusion with the order. After all she has a copy of the items I paid for. After my email I did get a response today saying " Hi Richard, We apologize AGIAN. We sent you some canine bowls too, to try and compensate for our error with your order. Sincerely, Susie " And nothing is said about the missing safety belt system or even an acknowledgment that she understood what is missing. I included a photo of the missing parts with my email this time so there could be no misunderstanding.
At this point I have no idea if she even knows that I still need the Safety Belt system or even knows what is going on at all.

All of this time I have had the feeling that they do not have the parts to make the products they sell. I was told by the man that took the order that they make all the products they sell.

So either they can't get the parts for what I ordered OR they really order from another place and resell the items. Either way I seems more than evident that they are stalling making every excuse they can to put me off. At one point several days ago I even said "if you don't have all of the parts needed to make the system, Please just tell me and I'll know what is going on." To that I received no response.

Like I said before I now have half the seatbelt system, it makes a good harness, but for walking is overkill, and I have a leash. Neither one will do my dog any good in an auto accident when I drive down to central Mexico from Washington.
I know times are tuff and it's hard to run a small mom and pop business but one of the most important things to know is that Honesty and communication is central in every business and goes a long way.

For the record, what I was taught in collage in my small business class is:
Only two out of every ten satisfied customers tell other people but seven out of 10 unsatisfied customers tell other people about their experiences.

When my C.C. company tried to call them usak9outfitters.com would not pick up the phone to talk to them, so the C.C. co. just remembered me my money and is now investigating my complaint. One thing I have very little tolerance for is dishonesty, double talk and misleading practices from any business. Even more so when they were more than happy to take my Credit Card Number, charge me for merchandise then I have to Beg over and over to get the items I paid for.

That's a shame. I will keep an ear out to see if anyone else has difficulties.

I do know that they can take several weeks to get an order out. Especially an odd size.

I don't think they are the same place. One is quick with the orders and information, the other is not. So far, you are the first one to say USA K9 Outfitters did something wrong.

The problem is:
- USA K9 Outfitters makes a harness called the Champion K9 System/Outfitters
- ChampK9 (aka Champion K9 Designs) group is either a former employee or a former owner of the Champion K9 System folk.
- ChampK9 website basically copied over the entire website that sells the Champion K9 System.
- USA K9 Outfitters is, I believe, a one or two person business and probably does not have the time to revamp their entire website (including images).
- ChampK9 has a BBB rating of F.
- USA K9 Outfitters does not have a rating, probably because folks get the two confused.

Either way, make sure you have the correct domain and company name when you file your complaints.

I use Mike's harness all the time and love it. Even after over 2 yrs, it shows very little wear and tear.

I called in my order on Jan 31 2012, Survivor big dog seat belt system $75.00 and Big dog lead for another $16 total of 98.95 w/shipping.
On Feb-4th I receive the harness only nothing more.
I write and email with no return answer. I then wait until the 6th and call to ask about the seat belt system and the lead.
Comment Oh we forgot to send that?
Yes....
On the 8th I receive the shipping "label creation" conformation. Then on the 10th I still see no shipping movement from the tracking via US Mail. I write and email with no return answer. I call and left a message.
I did get a call back from a Susie Hawkins saying that they are busy and will send it out. I then get an email from her giving me the tracking number again.
I look and see there is no movement and call the post office. They say "We have no package for that number!" I then email Susie and tell her that creating a shipping label is not the same as shipping the item. I included the screen shot of the tracking information "Empty". I then tell her I'm and reporting this to me credit card company.

This was on the 10th at about 10am. later that night I check the tracking and see the item HAD finally been dropped off at 5:55PM only after I got mad and told her to put it into the mail. Her house (where they do business out of) is only 1.6 miles from the post office so I can only assume that it was not the distance that kept her from the post office but maybe was American Idol or something.
It is now Feb 11th and still only have the harness. Well I looked on whois.domaintools.com (the place that you look up web sites) and see that usak9outfitters has changed their name server 3 times in 5 years indicating the possibility that these two could be one and the same.
The harness is very good Quality I love it but for $98 I would have gone with something else had I known of all this trouble.
I can only wonder what I may or MAY NOT get for the rest of my order. Before ordering look up the address on Google and note that they do business out of their house. That tells you something right there.

Update:
Feb-13-2012
Well today They only sent the lead and not the restraint system. I have called about 7 times and also email the same amount. I think that there must be a drug or alcohol problem with one of the people (I will not name) but the way that this person sounds on my answering machine sounds like they are high or drunk.
I filed a dispute with my Credit Card company. I Goggled this place and they are out of a house, not a commercial building. This was/is not worth the $98.95 I now have a harness and a lead but no way of restraining my 245 pound English Mastiff into my van for my move. This is the whole reason why I bought this was for the safety. I'm going to a local TAC shop to have a system made today.

We have purchased 2 harnesses so far and are waiting for the 3rd to come in. I just wanted to agree with everyone about how fantastic the product is (despite, yes, taking a little while to get to us, though we are in Ontario, Can.), the customer service is great (only 1 email I sent did not get answered but my phone calls are always answers or returned right away, very friendly and polite). My only advice would be to not use the weigh for sizing but instead be sure to measure your dog. The second harness we got our dog did not fit him for very long, he was in the weigh range but he was still a bit to large for it...still, an amazing product. We're not selling his old harnesses but plan to keep them for the next puppy!

I, too, ordered from Champion K-9 originally and experienced the same problems--no answer, full mailboxes, etc. So I called USA K-9 Outfitters and spoke with Suzie. She told me that she makes these restraint systems herself. I received mine in a matter of days and am very pleased with it. Aside from the sturdy construction, I like the fact that my German Shepherd does not get tangled up and unable to move because the harness moves on his back.

A registered letter to Champion K-9 cancelling that order was returned as undelivered.
